Barkley’s Pets is hiring for reliable, experienced, dog-loving walkers to join our community-focused team! You’ll spend your time outdoors, walking some of the best pups in Roslindale, West Roxbury, and Jamaica Plain, often in beautiful local parks like the Arnold Arboretum!

You’re welcome to have one earbud in for music or podcasts so you can enjoy your walks, while still staying alert and attentive to the dogs in your care.

On a typical day, you’d be walking 1–4 dogs at a time (most often 1-3 at a time). Our pups vary in size, age, and energy level — from playful puppies to laid-back seniors, to some more anxious pups— so you’ll need to be comfortable handling a range of temperaments. There’s a lot of walking, often a few miles per shift, and you’ll be outdoors in all types of weather.

This is an active role that’s perfect for someone who enjoys staying on their feet, building routines with the same dogs, and becoming a familiar, trusted face to their owners!

We’re currently hiring for:

• Minimum 3 days per week

• Afternoon 11am–3pm (most needed)

• Evening 3pm–7pm

• Both Weekdays & Weekends

• 5–10 hours per week that will increase as Barkley's grows!​

Pay & Perks

• 50%-55% commission per walk DOE, plus 100% of tips

• Additional income opportunities with pet sitting

• Biweekly pay

• W-2 position

What We’re Looking For

• Must be 18+

• Fluent in English

• Ready to start within a few days of offer.

• Consistent availability so dogs have familiar walkers and clients build trust. Our goal is to create steady, reliable routes.

• Reliable, friendly, and comfortable interacting with clients.

• Experience handling dogs and a genuine love for them.

• Able to walk for extended periods in all weather.

• Can lift 40–50 lbs (some dogs pull!).

• Have a car with room for dogs in the back seat.

• Live in or within 5-10 minute drive of Roslindale, West Roxbury, or Jamaica Plain.
